hey everyone, daniel here with an update from the radiant camp. i hope this doesn't come as a shock to anyone, but we are still working on our record.

in other news, we have our first show at trees in over 4 years. i remember when we played trees for the first time. it was the mecca of concert venues. i used to think, "if we can just play trees, then we'll have made it!" still not sure what "it" was, but our first show there was a big deal for us. i think it was with the afters and spaceman spiff. this time, we'll be sharing the stage with air review. here's the scoop:

Sat. 12/5 Trees w/ Air Review, Pale Horse, and Farstar. 11pm, 18+

it should be a terrific show, and we hope to see you there!

lots going on...

this whole thing could be a bust!
there are several things on the horizon that could lead to several other things that would be really cool. and eventually, some sort of state of nirvana will be reached, and it's all hinging on this one thing happening.

not really...that's actually a load of nonsense, but my mind certainly operates that way until i slap myself a few times.

sxsw was a brief but extremely fun time. i still consistently rate it as the highlight of my year, although we were only there for an afternoon. we stayed at lances (the roadie/goodtimes coordinator/ levi's cousin), who looks like a ghost in the spontaneous all dudes party pictured below.

we then proceeded to the hot freaks party, where we saw ola podrida, white denim, blitzen trapper, and the magnificent british sea power. the bands were good, the beer was cheap and mexican, and the popsicles were free and well received on this 90 degree day.

wimberley

i've been lucky enough to get to spend some time in my favorite town in texas. wimberley is a small town just south of austin in the hill country...rumor has it that it was a safe haven for hippies in the 60's and the free love breeding ensued, resulting in a pretty slow-paced, chilled-out culture.

i'm here with radiant plus kevin and becki howard. tonight we're levi's backing band in a youth rally in town, but right now we're in chris kipp's coffee shop (kipp's coffee) taking it easy. dragan and i manned the espresso bar for a while, as if we missed working the morning rush at starbucks this morning.

that's it for now brotha....

the (radiant) boys are back in town!!

and by that i mean my trusty 12" ibook has been repaired and i'll be blogging as often as my interweb access affords me. right now i'm living with three other dudes: jon, jamey, and coty. the internet is something we don't have along with food, cable, and occasionally toilet paper. but it's our place and we like it.

the band had a show scheduled for tomorrow night but we had to cancel it due to levi's laryngitis. the songs we are writing are really turning out good i think. there's a lot of verve in the room during the writing process that was missing before. probably because of our diversity, illustrated here:

i know it's been a while since i've posted one of these. incidentally, that's about the third or fourth blog entry that's started out that way. honestly, i don't have much to say. radiant's been on a break. during that time dragan went to bosnia and italy for a month, levi went to ukraine, poland, serbia, austria, and germany, and i went to peru. jesse stayed here and held down the fort at american apparel. the break is about to come to an end, but right now i've got my beautiful girlfriend next to me in a room full of friends, babies running around, a full wine glass, and no work tomorrow, so life is good.

more music writing coming soon. until then i'm enjoying life and i hope you are too.

kaput

i bet you're wondering why it's been well over a month since i've posted a new blog. i bet you're sitting in front of your computer for hours a day, clicking the refresh button over and over in hopes that i've posted some new information regarding our beloved radiant. i bet you're sitting up late at night coming up with conspiracy theories as to why the posts have stopped. well, here's the truth.

my computer is kaput. busted. broken. we need to overhaul the motherboard. we need to send it off to apple headquarters and let their scientists have a look.

meanwhile, i've hijacked my dad's computer. i've broken through high levels of security to get to it. i've brake danced over moving red lazer beams. i've infiltrated the world wide interweb just to bring you this news:

radiant are writing a new record.

that's right.

new music for us. and you...eventually.

we will be recording 3 or 4 of the new songs with our buddy chad (formerly of the hero factor). i'm hoping that he plays some keys on it or something. anyway, the new songs are coming along nicely, but we've haulted all shows in the meantime. i think there will be one at the house of blues, and one at DBU or something.

oh no...here comes my dad.

new old drums

i just bought a new drumset on ebay. imagine that i'm this guy, only skinnier, and this is my new drumset, only smaller. but seriously, it's clear just like the one so tastefully pictured above. however, i don't know how he was able to make it look like it is on the inside of a hot-air balloon. nevertheless, another science-defying piece of visual art showcased right here at radiantboys.

by the way, has anyone listened to the new travis album yet? i gotta say, i love it.
